The Nationals had the right to acquire the curly “W” emblem from the Washington Senators team, which played in Washington before relocating to Texas in 1971. Yet, the first Washington Nationals logo had a completely different design. It was built around the white 3D word “National” placed on a navy blue banner.

Gone was the beveled bridge “Washington” font, and in its place was the new road wordmark “Washington” featuring a script font, with the “W” in Washington in the same style as the “W” on the caps. Washington would be in red, outlined in blue and white (the same as the front number).

On the left side of the ring in yellow gold is the players name in a bold, distinctive font. Beneath the player name, also in yellow gold, is the nation's majestically-waving flag, along with the 2019 championship year date.
