I've just deployed an ASP.NET application onto a Windows 2003 web server. The application contains Crystal Reports. Some of the reports contain characters in WingDings2 font. When the report is generated those characters show in the standard font instead. I copied the WingDings2 font to the web server, but it did not help. I restarted IIS also ...

The fonts do not get installed, they do not sure in the font selection dialogue in notepad (on the web server) and we get the asp.net exception "Font 'Arial' cannot be found.". Have also restarted the server. I have also tried copying the .ttf files to the c:\windows\fonts folder and restarting the server.

if you are developing for relatively modern browsers you can read up on @font-face. or, it may be just a simple matter of installing the font on your web server, typically you just need to copy the font file over to some folder on the server, say the desktop, and it should just be a simple matter of right clicking and selecting "install font"

Even if you install the font in your server it does not mean that the font should work when your users try to access the site. The font has to be installed in all the machines that is going to access it so if your site is public you can't make every user to install the font.
